India end day two of the fourth Test match with Australia just four runs in front after reaching the close of play on 266-8.

India have edged four runs ahead of Australia after reaching 266-8 at stumps on day two of the fourth Test match in Delhi.

After Australia were bowled out for 262, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara put on an 108-run opening stand before Pujara was dismissed for 52 by Nathan Lyon.

That halted India in their tracks, and Lyon was continuing to have a pivotal impact as the innings wore on, picking up four wickets.

The hosts struggled past 200, with Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni making just 32 and 24 respectively, and they were reduced to 210-6 with 45 minutes of day two remaining.

Both sides were striving to find some momentum ahead of day three, and India had looked to have found it through Ravindra Jadeja, who scored a fine 43 off 49 balls, before he was trapped lbw at Glenn Maxwell.

The hosts went past Australia's total just before stumps, but the tourists dealt the final blow of the day when Lyon took the wicket of Ravichandran Ashwin to secure his fifth wicket.
