Leg-spin bowler Amit Mishra has been recalled to the India Test squad for next month's series against Sri Lanka.
The 32-year-old, who has replaced Karn Sharma, last played a Test match for his country during their tour of England in 2011.
"Amit Mishra was always in the scheme of things. Last year also he was in the reserves. The final XI, though, is decided by the captain. Looking at the conditions, we have picked him for this tour," selector Sandeep Patil told reporters.
In his 13 Test outings following his debut in October 2008, Mishra has taken 43 wickets.
India will begin their tour of Sri Lanka in Galle on August 12, followed by two matches in Colombo.
