South Africa have lost the early wicket of Dean Elgar after bowling India out for 334 in their first innings in the fourth Test in Delhi.

The hosts added 103 to their overnight score of 231-7 as Ajinkya Rahane, who began the day unbeaten on 89, soon notched up his century.

He went on to make 127 before being caught by AB de Villiers off the bowling of Imran Tahir.

Ravichandran Ashwin continued to frustrate South Africa as he passed 50, but was eventually dismissed for 56 when he was caught at midwicket by De Villiers.

Just two balls later, Kyle Abbott trapped Ishant Sharma lbw as India posted a total of 334.

Elgar only managed to contribute 17 runs before being caught behind by Wriddhiman Saha off the bowling of Umesh Yadav to leave South Africa 38-1 at tea.
