Ireland have set Zimbabwe a target of 331 runs, after Edmund Joyce reached 112 and Andrew Balbirnie missed out on getting a century with 97.
The Leprechauns started off slowly but managed to not drop many wickets early on and scored 331-8 after 50 overs.
The slow build-up led to partnerships being built as Joyce and Balbirnie put on 134 together, before Joyce was caught off the bowling of Tendai Chatara.
Zimbabwe struggled to get Ireland's lower order out towards the end but claimed a wicket on the last ball of their World Cup match.
