Robin Uthappa led the way for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they beat the Mumbai Indians by six wickets in tonight's IPL game in Cuttack.
Kolkata won the toss and chose to field, restricting the Indians, who are struggling in this year's IPL after winning the tournament last year, to 141-5 from their 20 overs.
Mumbai openers Lendl Simmons (12) and Chidhambaram Gautam (8) failed to get the visitors off to a good start but they did better going in the middle order with knocks of 33 and 51 from Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma respectively.
Uthappa's 52-ball 80, which included nine fours and three sixes, made up the bulk of the Knight Riders' innings as they reached their victory target with eight balls to spare.
Gautam Gambhir (14), Manish Pandey (14) and Yusuf Pathan (20 not out) provided most of the other runs, with Kolkata improving their record to five wins and five losses.
They are up to fourth in the standings while Mumbai are second-bottom with three wins and seven defeats.
