Northants Steelbacks have eased to victory over Leicestershire Foxes in a T20 Blast match that had to be shortened because of the weather.
After a lengthy rain delay, the match was cut to 10 overs per innings, and Leicestershire made a difficult start to their spell, slipping to 9-2 after Aadil Ali and Edmund Eckersley were both removed cheaply.
A 76-run partnership between Grant Elliott and Ben Raine got the visitors back into the match though, with Elliott scoring 56 off 29 balls before being run out, while Raine finished on an unbeaten 32 off 19 deliveries.
Chasing 112 for victory, Northamptonshire made a rapid start to the run chase, with openers Richard Levi and Joshua Cobb needing just over three overs to reach 50, but the latter fell for 22.
Ben Duckett ensured that the home side continued to make progress though, passing the 100-run mark in the eighth over, before tying the scores early in the ninth.
Needing just one run for victory with 10 balls remaining, Levi drove the ball to the boundary to finish 67 not out, securing the nine-wicket win, which leaves the Steelbacks third in the North Group.
