New Zealand have beaten Sri Lanka by one wicket in their ICC Champions Trophy encounter in Cardiff.
Having won the toss and put themselves into bat, the Sri Lankans were bowled out for 138 runs with around 12 overs remaining in the Group A match.
In response, New Zealand reached their target following a nervy finish between the sides.
Sri Lanka's time at the crease got off to a disastrous start as Kusal Perera was bowled out by Kyle Mills with the very first ball of the day.
They struggled to make runs after that as Kumar Sangakkara (68), Tillakaratne Dilshan (20) and Thisara Perera (15) were the only players to make it into double figures.
Mitchell McClenaghan did most of the damage with the ball for the Kiwis, taking four wickets.
Despite being set a relatively low score by their opponents, New Zealand also laboured out in the middle.
Martin Guptill (25), Brendan McCullum (18) and Nathan McCullum (32) helped push their side forward as the match edged towards a thrilling finish.
With only two wickets remaining, Tim Southee (13 not out) and McClenaghan (1 not out) guided New Zealand to victory.
