The Adelaide Strikers have confirmed that Kieron Pollard will play no part in the upcoming Big Bash League.
The West Indies international recently sustained a knee injury while in action for the Cape Cobras in the South African Ram Slam T20 event.
He will now fly to the USA to consult with a specialist over the best way to treat the complaint.
"This is obviously terrible news and our first concern is that Kieron can make a full recovery from his injury," general manager Tim Nielsen told the club's official website.
"He's become a regular at Adelaide Oval and I'm sure both our fans and players will be devastated not to see him in Strikers colours."
Nielsen went on to confirm that the club would seek to sign an international replacement for Pollard before the tournament gets underway next month.
