The Independent Police Complaints Commission have suggested that they may investigate the death of cricketer Tom Maynard.
The 23-year-old Surrey batsman was found dead in the early hours of Monday morning after he was struck by a London Underground train.
British Transport Police have told how a man matching Maynard's description had earlier ran away from officers after he had been pulled over for "driving erratically".
In a statement the IPCC said: "Once a formal referral has been received from the MPS (Metropolitan Police Service) an assessment will take place regarding the level of IPCC involvement."
A series of tributes from friends and cricketers have poured in throughout the day following the news.
