Warwickshire’s Rikki Clarke equalled a world record after taking seven catches in their County Championship Division One match against Lancashire at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old noted that he was especially proud of the second of his catches.
“I think Boyd Rankin to Steve Moroe was the best. The edge went quite high I reached up and it stuck luckily and very pleased with that,” he told Sky Sports News.
The home fans were willing Clarke to break the record - shared by Micky Stewart and Tony Brown - a situation that the Essex-born cricketer found odd.
“It was very strange. They seem to like a world record up here and hopefully we get the last wicket and if it comes to me tomorrow I’ll hopefully catch it,” he said.
Heading into final day of the encounter, second-placed Lancashire have a 283run lead with one wicket remaining.
