The opening of the Pakistan Super League has been postponed to allow players to secure clearance from their national boards.
The tournament labelled "unmanageable" was due to begin on March 25 but the PCB have said that they need more time to tackle the overwhelming response to the competition.
Security concerns have led Australia and South Africa to ban their contracted players from taking part, and English counties were reluctant to grant players No Objection Certificates for the 12-day tournament.
In 2009 gunmen attacked the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore, killing seven policemen and injuring six players, and Pakistan has not hosted international cricket since.
