Danish Kaneria has denied allegations that he pressured Essex teammates into deliberately fixing cricket matches.
The Pakistani leg-spinner was named when former teammate Mervyn Westfield was sentenced to four months in prison on Friday for on-field corruption.
"All these allegations are false," Kaneria said. "I have not only been cleared by the British police, but also by the England and Wales Cricket Board, and the International Cricket Council."
The 31-year-old also spoke of his anguish at being suspending by the Pakistan Cricket Board because of his alleged involvement in the fixing, adding: "I have been trying my best to clear my name, but so far I don't know why the PCB suspended me from playing international cricket for Pakistan."
Before his international suspension in 2010, Kaneria had claimed 261 wickets in 61 Tests.
