Suspended Pakistan leg-spinner Dinesh Kaneria will seek compensation from the England and Wales Cricket Board as his appeal against a lifetime ban has been delayed.
The hearing was supposed to take place in December 2012, but his spot-fixing accuser Mervyn Westfield refused to show on the day.
His lawyer Farogh Naseem has now confirmed that Kaneria will seek compensation for the loss of earnings since the initial appeal date.
"We will definitely seek compensation from the ECB as because of the ban my client has been unable to play and earn a living," Naseem told Sky Sports News.
"We feel that they not only have delayed the procedure, but they refused to allow an interim measure until it was decided. Kaneria should have been allowed to continue to play while the matter was settled."
The new appeal hearing is scheduled for April 22.
