Ahmed Shehzad led the way for Pakistan as they set New Zealand an imposing target of 365 to win the third one-day international in Sharjah.
The opener hit 113 off 120 balls to top score for Pakistan, with Shahid Afridi [55 runs off 26 balls] the only other man to contribute at least a half-century.
Pakistan looked on course for a par score of around 300 going into the final 10 overs, but then whacked 125 runs to finish with a flurry and make it extremely difficult for the Black Caps.
Matt Henry was the pick of the Kiwi bowlers with three wickets for 83 runs in his 10 overs as Pakistan finished on 364-7 and put themselves in a strong position to take a lead in a five-match series which is tied at 1-1.
