Perth Scorchers have beaten the Adelaide Strikers by five runs in round seven of the Big Bash League.
Craig Simmons was the star performer for the Scorchers by reaching 102 off 41 balls, which put his name in the history books by scoring the fastest ton ever in the Big Bash League.
The Strikers didn't have much luck, but it was Jon Holland who eventually dismissed the batsman before the 20 overs were up.
While Simmons pushed up the Scorchers' total, Sam Whiteman (20), Jason Behrendorff (15 not out) and Ashton Turner (27 not out) contributed in Perth.
The Strikers were frustrated on the field, but they had their chance to fight back at the crease by chasing a total of 204 to win the round-seven encounter.
Opening batsman Alex Hales was the first one to fall having scored 31 runs from 19 balls, but Phillip Hughes managed to rack up 58 runs before getting dismissed by Behrendorff.
After losing five wickets, the Strikers were capable of reaching the total with the task of finding 25 runs from 10 balls after 18 overs, but they missed out by finishing the contest 198-6.
