India have reached 76-1 at lunch on the first day of the second Test against South Africa after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Jacques Kallis came out to a guard of honour following his announcement that this will be his final match before retiring from Test cricket.
Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay opened the batting for the tourists in Durban, but their partnership was ended after 14 overs when Morne Morkel forced an edge from Dhawan.
Cheteshwar Pujara came to the crease and was able to add 13 before lunch, while Vijay continued to bat patiently to reach 33.
Morkel was the pick of the home side's bowlers in the morning session, bowling seven overs for 14 runs and the wicket, while Kallis had a short three-over spell in his final Test.
