South Africa beat Bangladesh by 31 runs in the second Twenty20 international in Dhaka to win the series 2-0.

South Africa have beaten Bangladesh by 31 runs in their second Twenty20 international in Dhaka to wrap up a comprehensive 2-0 win in their two-match series.

The Proteas batted first and posted 169-4 from their 20 overs, with opener Quinton de Kock notching 44 off 31 balls before being dismissed by Sabbir Rahman off the bowling of Arafat Sunny.

JP Duminy made just six before he was dismissed, while AB de Villiers fell shortly after on 40 to leave the visitors on 102-3.

Mushfiqur Rahim caught Faf du Plessis out for 16, but David Miller and Rilee Rossouw guided their side through to the end of their innings with scores of 30 not out and 19 not out respectively.

Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar got Bangladesh's response off to a steady start, putting on 46 between them before Iqbal fell for 13.

The removal of Rahman led to a mini collapse from the hosts, as two further wickets fell in quick succession without them adding to their score, leaving them on 82-6.

Rony Talukdar and Masrafe Mortaza offered some resistance against the Proteas bowling attack, notching 21 and 17 respectively, but Bangladesh fell short of their target and were bowled out with four balls remaining.

Debutant Eddie Leie was the pick of the South African bowlers with three wickets for 16 runs, while Kyle Abbott also took three scalps for 20 runs.
