South Africa leave the field in Durban 68 runs behind India at tea on the third day of the second Test.

South Africa are closing in on India's first-innings total of 334 as they left the field for tea on 267-4 on the third day of the second Test in Durban.

India had taken the wickets of Graeme Smith (47), Hashim Amla (3) and Alviro Petersen (62) in the morning session, but AB de Villiers and Jacques Kallis, who entered the field to a guard of honour in his final Test match in Durban, stabilised a precarious situation for the hosts with a 127-run stand.

De Villiers (74) eventually departed when he edged Ravindra Jadeja's full length delivery to Virat Kohli at first slip, but the home crowd were soon on their feet to applaud Kallis's 59th Test 50, which included nine fours.

Kallis and JP Duminy kept the scoreboard ticking over to leave the hosts trailing India at tea by 68 runs with 6 wickets remaining.
