Thilan Samaraweera has insisted that Sri Lanka can recover from two heavy defeats to beat Australia in Sydney.
The third Test begins in Sydney on Thursday and Samaraweera claims that the squad remain confident despite trailing the three-match series 2-0.
"It was really hard to digest that defeat (in two-and-a-half days at the MCG), but that's in the past now," the batsman told reporters.
"The good thing is this team have the belief they can make history by winning one Test in Australia.
"That is the kind of attitude we have going into the New Year's Test."
Chanaka Welagedera and Kumar Sangakkara will both miss the final Test with injury.
