Graeme Swann took two late wickets to keep England in the driving seat of the second Test match in Colombo today.
Sri Lanka closed on 218-6 after what had been a frustrating day until the off-spinner struck late in the day to remove Thilan Samaraweera.
His 90-run stand with Mahela Jayawardene came to an end when he played onto the stumps in the penultimate over.
Swann then claimed the wicket of Suraj Randiv two deliveries later.
Captain Jayawardene remains unbeaten on 55, with Sri Lanka holding a slender 33-run lead.
