India have written to the West Indies to demand $42m (£26.2m) in compensation following the abandoned series between the two sides last month.
The West Indies players pulled out of the tour, which still had a one-day international, a Twenty20 and three Tests to be played, over a pay dispute.
According to BBC Sport, the BCCI has written to its counterpart in the West Indies, describing the consequences of the cancelled matches as "crippling".
India quickly arranged a series with Sri Lanka to replace the cancelled matches.
