West Indies batsman Devon Smith is determined to continue to defy his side's critics in their Test series against England.
Smith has claimed that the press suggested that his team would be whitewashed by the Three Lions, and he was delighted by their response to hold out for a draw in Antigua thanks to Jason Holder's maiden first-class century.
The 33-year-old has admitted that he is motivated by the criticism to build on their performance in the first Test.
"They said in the press they would win three love," Smith told reporters. "We've had the first Test and we're looking forward to the next two to come.
"It motivates me - it motivates the whole team - to go out there and prove them wrong for whatever they said.
"The guys are pumped up and looking forward to it. To bat a whole day and save a Test is amazing. A lot of fans expected us to lose but we delivered and we earned the draw."
The second Test of the series begins later today in Grenada.
