The youngest cricketer to ever play in a first-class match in England, Barney Gibson, has retired at the age of 19.
The wicketkeeper was 15 years and 27 days old when he made his Yorkshire debut against Durham University in April 2011.
He has not made another appearance since and now Gibson has cancelled his contract with the club's academy to pursue other career opportunities.
Gibson had spent four years in the development set-up at Leeds United before opting to prioritise cricket.
