China's Li Zhang Yu smashes the world record by five seconds in the men's individual time trial.

China's Li Zhang Yu stunned a packed crowd in the velodrome to break the world record in the Paralymic men's individual time trial.

Li is favourite to clinch the gold medal in the Paralympic event after storming around the track to beat Brit Darren Kenny's world record by five seconds.

The C1 athlete, who is part of the most seriously-impaired category, clinched the time of 1:05.021 with just five riders left to go.

GB's Kenny won gold in the last two Paralympic Games.
