Tour de France leader Bradley Wiggins has praised the selfless attitude of Team Sky teammate Mark Cavendish, who has supported the leader in the team's quest for the yellow jersey.
Wiggins has held the jersey for more than a week now, with Cavendish again putting his teammate first in one of his favoured sprint stages.
"Mark has been fantastic these last two and a half weeks," Wiggins told letour.fr. "He's been so committed to my cause – to the yellow jersey – and he's a great champion and a great friend.
"Obviously there is still the stage to Paris for him and we're going to lay it down in Paris for him and try and get him the win there."
Wiggins currently holds a 2.05m lead over teammate Chris Froome.
