Lizzie Armitstead has revealed that she doesn't remember anything about the crash that has resulted in her withdrawal from the women's Tour of Britain.
After winning the opening stage in Suffolk, Armitstead appeared to lose control of her bike while celebrating her triumph before colliding with a photographer.
Armistead suffered bruising as a result of the incident, but despite wishing to race on, she has taken the advice of her Boels Dolmans Cycling team and pulled out of the event.
The 26-year-old wrote on Twitter: "I remember winning with the help of my teammates but not much else, but I am okay. Nothing broken but very sore.
"Thank you for all of your kind messages and to the NHS staff that took care of me so well. I won't start on Thursday in the hope of recovering properly for the nationals."
The National Road Championships begin in Lincolnshire on June 28.
