Cycling's governing body UCI have revealed that Spanish rider Carlos Barredo is currently under investigation for doping.
The world's cycling teams have begun to crack down on cyclists taking performance-enhancing drugs following the damning evidence presented against Lance Armstrong by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
The UCI have confirmed that Barredo, who competes for Rabobank, is under investigation following a change in the rider's blood profile during the biological passport doping programme.
The programme monitors a cyclist's blood profile over a certain period of the time to check that there have been no signs of doping.
