British cyclist Simon Yates has been given a four-month ban by the UCI for failing a drugs test.
News of the failed test was revealed in April, with Yates's team Orica-GreenEdge blaming an "administrative error" for the use of an asthma inhaler, which contains the banned substance terbutaline.
The governing body confirmed that it was a "non-intentional" violation on the 23-year-old's part, but nevertheless handed him a four-month sanction backdated to when his positive sample was collected on March 12.
Yates will be able to return to competition with his team on July 11, too late to compete at the Tour de France, but in time to take to the start of the WorldTour race, the Tour of Poland, which begins on July 12.
