Two-time Olympic champion Katie Archibald suffered a heavy crash during the omnium points race at the UCI Track Nations Cup in Glasgow.
The 28-year-old was leading the pack with 61 laps to go in the event but collided with another rider's bike and tumbled down the track.
Archibald sparked concern when she was pictured lying almost motionless following the incident, but the four-time world champion was able to stagger to her feet and walk off with support.
The British rider was forced to retire from the race, and it remains to be seen if she will be able to compete alongside Neah Evans in the madison later on Sunday.
On a more positive note, Josie Knight returned from a broken elbow to clinch the bronze medal in the individual pursuit, as Mieke Kroger and Franziska Brausse took gold and silver for Germany.
