Andy Schleck has been forced to put his return to cycling on hold after contracting a respiratory infection.
The 2010 Tour de France winner abandoned last week's Tour of the Mediterranean because of the illness as he continued his comeback from a pelvic fracture sustained last year.
RadioShack-Leopard team manager Luca Guercilena told Sky Sports News: "We were happy to see Andy doing well in training the last few days. There is, however, a big difference between training and race situations.
"We want to prevent a relapse because of the race. Andy's main goals are situated later in the season. It is better that we are cautious now instead of taking steps backward."
The team have confirmed that the 27-year-old will spend the next few days training in Mallorca before returning to competition at the end of the month in Italy.
