Cycling's world governing body the UCI has confirmed that the inaugural Tour of Yorkshire will be held in May 2015.
The race was announced in the build-up to the county hosting the Grand Depart of this year's Tour de France, but has now been confirmed by the UCI after meetings held during the current Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain.
The event will take the form of a three-day race, and will be run by Welcome to Yorkshire and Amaury Sports Organisation.
The dates for the tour in the UCI calendar are May 1 to May 3.
