Sir Bradley Wiggins has expressed his hope that this week's Giro del Trentino will provide the perfect warm-up for the Giro D'Italia next month.
Wiggins has already signalled his intention to make the Giro D'Italia his main objective for 2013 having won the Tour de France and an Olympic gold last year.
The 32-year-old is still yet to pick up a win this year, but insists that he is feeling good ahead of this week's race.
"I don't have any big trouble, (I have) got pretty good feelings but can't really state what my chances are (here)," Wiggins said.
"If there was an individual time trial in the programme, it would have probably been easier.
"I picked this race because I know it is the perfect setup for the Giro d'Italia, with great mountains to climb and top-notch opponents."
The opening stage of the Giro D'Italia will take place on May 4.
