British rider Jonathan Tiernan-Locke has become the first Brit to win the Tour of Britain in 19 years after finishing in the mix on Sunday.
Mark Cavendish won his third stage of the race, but Tiernan-Locke, who led Nathan Haas by 18 seconds entering the race, did enough to secure the victory.
British pair Peter Williams and Kristian House won the sprint and king of the mountains jerseys respectively.
Tiernan-Locke will join Cavendish in a nine-man British team at the World Championships next week.
