Team GB cyclist Mark Cavendish has labelled his teammates 'incredible' despite missing out on a medal in the men's road race.
Kazakhstan's Alexander Kinokourov won the race as Cavendish and his Great Britain teammates failed to mount a bid on the medals.
Cavendish told BBC Radio 5 live: "I can be proud with how the lads rode today. I'm proud of my country as there was incredible support.
"The guys are sat there, they are spent. They have got nothing left in the tank.
"It was incredible to see that, to see what they did for the cause."
The 27-year-old had hoped to overcome missing out on a medal in Beijing four years ago.
