Team GB's Chris Froome has picked up a bronze medal in the men's individual time trial at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The 31-year-old was aiming for gold just a matter of weeks after he won his third Tour de France title, but he was unable to do so as Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara - nicknamed Spartacus - stormed to the top spot on the podium.
Tom Dumoulin of the Netherlands took the silver medal after finishing 47 seconds behind the winner, and it was a strong finish from Froome as he snuck into third place.
There was disappointment for early leader Rohan Dennis as the Australian missed out on a spot on the podium after having to change bikes due to a mechanical problem.
Cancellara took gold in this event in the 2008 Beijing Games, while Dumoulin's silver is his first Olympic medal, and Froome has matched the bronze that he won at London 2012.
