Fabian Cancellara has withdrawn from the Tour de France to attend the birth of his second child.
The Swiss rider was the winner of the Liege prologue and wore the yellow jersey until stage seven.
Cancellara said: "I am not only a bike rider. I am also a husband and father.
"It is my personal wish to be present when my wife Stefanie gives birth to our second child."
Cancellara will now return to his native Switzerland.
