Chris Froome believes that allegations suggesting he has used performance-enhancing drugs to boost his performance will be "never-ending", despite Team Sky's efforts.

Tour de France leader Chris Froome has admitted that he expects accusations over wrongdoing to remain for the rest of his career.

The British rider has had to defend himself against allegations that he has used performance-enhancing drugs to boost his performance.

In an attempt to prove his innocence, Team Sky released some of Froome's performance data on Tuesday, but the 30-year-old has doubts that the speculation will ever end.

"I'd imagine it's going to be never-ending," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I was quite sure when we released the file yesterday it wouldn't be enough.

"The data will never be enough. There are a lot of people out there who have already made up their minds and no matter what information we release or make public that's not going to change their opinions."

Froome kept his Tour de France lead intact by holding off closest challenger Nairo Quintana in stage 17 on Wednesday.
