Chris Froome believes that he is capable of one day winning the Tour de France, but only if he were to leave Team Sky.
The 27-year-old is currently second in the overall standings behind teammate Bradley Wiggins. However, his primary role on the Tour is to act as a support rider for Wiggins, who is currently the clear favourite to win the event.
Despite admitting that he understands the reasoning behind the tactics, Froome has hinted that he may have to move on in order to achieve individual success.
"I could win this Tour, but not at Sky. I cannot lie to you, it's difficult, but it's my job," he told L'Equipe.
"It's a very, very great sacrifice. We have a strategy around Wiggins and everybody respects it."
Froome joined Team Sky in 2010.
