Chris Froome has insisted that he wants to continue his success to prove that his Tour de France win last year was not a fluke.

The Team Sky rider has revealed that he wants to back up his results in an era where questions are often raised about doping.

Froome says that he wants to leave no doubt and give people something to believe in.

"I want to back up my results for the next five years, at least, to prove nothing was a fluke," he told Team Sky's official website. "My results will stand the test of time and I want to erase any doubt about them.

"I want to back up everything that I achieved last season and prove that I am a legitimate champion.

"Especially in this era of cycling, there's so much doubt around what we're doing and I sincerely want to prove to people they can believe in this sport again, believe in me and believe in Team Sky."

Froome begins his season with the Tour of Oman next week.
