Geraint Thomas has tightened his grip on the yellow jersey thanks to a second-place finish on stage 19 of the Tour de France this afternoon.
The Welshman came second to Primoz Roglic on the final day in the mountains to leave himself two minutes and five seconds better off than closest challenger Tom Dumoulin.
Thomas outsprinted Dumoulin to pick up six bonus seconds, leaving him on the brink of a famous triumph with the 31km individual time trial to come on Saturday.
Defending champion Chris Froome dropped down the standings from third place, meanwhile, with Roglic moving into the frame courtesy of his impressive showing on Friday.
If Thomas holds on, he will become the third Briton after Froome and Sir Bradley Wiggins to win the race.
