Luke Littler has endured mixed fortunes in his first attempt to qualify for some of this season's EuroTour events on the PDC Tour.
Although the 17-year-old is a World Championship runner-up and a participant in the Premier League, he must make an impact in the tournaments away from the television to consistently feature in each event.
On Wednesday, Littler was one of 10 qualifiers for the Belgian Darts Open, but he has missed out on a place at the German Darts Grand Prix.
Littler came through matches against Radek Szaganski, Mervyn King and Maik Kuivenhoven to secure his maiden appearance at the former, coming through 6-5 against Kuivenhoven having dropped just three legs in his previous two games.
A second progression in succession looked on when Littler defeated Christian Perez in his first match of the second tournament, only for the teenager to lose 6-5 to Jim Williams in the next round.
While Littler noticeably performed below the high standards that he has set since his PDC emergence in December, he can be delighted with his achievements ahead of Week Three in the Premier League having won Players Championship One on Monday.
