All four of Saturday night's first-round matches at the PDC World Championship went the way of the seeded player.
Robert Thornton, Gary Anderson, Andy Hamilton and Paul Nicholson all cruised into round two with minimal fuss at the Alexandra Palace.
Ninth seed Thornton lost the first set to Germany's Max Hopp, but he recovered quickly to win 3-1 and earn a meeting with either Colin Lloyd or Beau Anderson in the last 32.
Anderson then thrashed fellow former finalist Mark Dudbridge 3-0 to set up a second-round clash against Brendan Dolan, Dennis Lindskjold or Colin Osborne.
Spaniard Julio Barbero eased past Andree Welge in a best-of-seven-legs qualifier, but he was unable to cause any problems for 2012 runner-up Hamilton, who triumphed 3-1 to book a date with Richie Burnett.
The final match of the night saw 20th seed Nicholson average 96.82 en route to beating Stuart Kellett in straight sets.
Nicholson's next opposition will be either Kevin Painter or Tomas Seyler.
