World champion Michael van Gerwen has targeted top spot in the Darts Premier League ahead of his clash with Peter Wright.
The 25-year-old, who has already booked his place in next week's playoffs, will finish the campaign at the summit if he avoids defeat against Wright in Brighton.
"I'm delighted to have qualified for the playoffs but this is still a massive game for me," the current world number one is quoted as saying by PDC-Darts.co.uk.
"I want to finish top of the table and this is my chance to do that. It's also important to keep up my good form from last week's win over Raymond [van Barneveld] because the playoffs are so close now.
"It's a big night for Peter if he wants to make it through to London but I will just be concentrating on my own game. I'm confident I can get the win and be in good shape for the playoffs."
Van Gerwen defeated Wright in the final of the World Championship in January.
