World number one Michael van Gerwen reveals that he is targeting five major wins in 2015 after picking up his first UK Open title at the weekend.

Michael van Gerwen has admitted that it will be difficult to complete a clean sweep of all of the major tournaments during 2015.

Last weekend, the world number one added the UK Open title to the Masters crown that he picked up earlier this year, and the Dutchman has revealed that he is targeting a minimum of five major triumphs for the remainder of the year.

The 25-year-old told PDC.tv: "I want to win them all but it's impossible to win every tournament, I think. I'm already on two but I want to win a minimum of five - you need to set yourself targets and that's important.

"I've won the first two televised tournaments of the year, it means I'm in great form and I want to continue this. I'm doing well in the Premier League, I'm second at the moment, so I want to keep on with these performances.

"The World Matchplay and Grand Slam are targets for me as well because I've never won them before and I want to win every tournament. I know I can do that but it's really difficult, they're all good players."

Van Gerwen has lost just twice in 48 matches on the PDC Tour since the start of the new campaign.
