Gary Anderson has continued his pursuit of a second successive world title with a 5-1 triumph over James Wade in the quarter-finals at Alexandra Palace.
After taking the opener in a deciding leg, Anderson powered to victory, hitting 10 maximums and averaging 105.25 in a dominant performance.
The Scot will now play Jelle Klaasen after the 2006 Lakeside champion produced a stunning finish to edge out Alan Norris by a 5-4 scoreline in another high-quality clash that included 26 180s.
Norris held the advantage throughout the contest, including at 3-1 before Klaasen pegged him back for 3-3, but after missing double 12 for a nine-darter, the 2014 Lakeside runner-up found himself on the end of a barrage of high scores from his Dutch opponent.
After Klaasen denied Norris the chance to try to finish 59 to book his place in the last four, he reeled off four legs in a row to secure his place in the semis and ensure that he will feature in the top 16 of the PDC Order of Merit at the end of the tournament.
