Kim Huybrechts has registered a 16-10 triumph over Michael van Gerwen at the Grand Slam of Darts in a sensational performance that also saw him hit a nine-dart leg.
The Belgian averaged well into three figures as he stormed into a 12-3 lead only to see the world number one take the next four legs to reduce the deficit to five.
However, after taking the 20th leg, Huybrechts hit the perfect leg in front of a captivated Wolverhampton crowd before finally sealing a convincing victory.
Huybrechts will play Dave Chisnall in the semi-finals after the St Helens thrower fought back to overcome World Youth champion Keegan Brown.
The 22-year-old won eight of the first 10 legs before Chisnall responded with a surge of his own to get back to 12-8.
Brown remained ahead at 14-12 but Chisnall held his nerve in the closing stages to check out 100 to run out a 16-14 winner.
