Michael van Gerwen has defeated Peter Wright by an 11-9 scoreline to retain his World Series of Darts title.
The world number one was not at his best during the final in Glasgow but he was still able to edge past Wright for the second year in a row.
After beating Dave Chisnall and Phil Taylor respectively in the last four, the opening six legs were shared before Van Gerwen created some distance between himself and the Scot at 7-5.
That soon became 10-6 and the Dutchman appeared to be on the brink of a comfortable win, but as he began to squander darts for the match, Wright reeled off three successive legs to stay in it.
In a dramatic 20th leg, Van Gerwen missed seven more darts to win the match but after Wright missed chances of his own, he was eventually able to get over the line.
Van Gerwen's win comes just a week after he successfully defended his European Championship title.
