Michael van Gerwen is one match away from completing the set of PDC Majors after easing to victory against Michael Smith in the Grand Slam of Darts semi-finals.
Ahead of the match, the world number one had won 26 of his last 32 legs, and he continued his dominance at the tournament against Smith, who had reached the last four of a televised PDC tournament for the first time.
Van Gerwen capitalised on a slow start from his opponent, and although Smith showed flashes of his ability, eight maximums from the Dutchman, as well as a 170 checkout in the final leg, was enough to secure a 16-6 triumph.
Defending champion Phil Taylor will face Van Gerwen in the final after he held off a spirited performance from Raymond van Barneveld.
A five-leg surge saw Taylor move into an 8-4 lead, but Van Barneveld quickly reduced the deficit to one before trailing 14-12 in the closing stages.
However, Taylor finished strongly, hitting a 177 and an 11th 180 in the final two legs to give himself the opportunity to try to claim a seventh title in Wolverhampton.
