Michael van Gerwen has defeated Peter Wright to win his first UK Open title in Minehead.
The world number one shared the opening eight legs of the final with the Scottish thrower before surging clear to run out an 11-5 victor.
The 25-year-old had been suffering with an arm injury during the opening stages of the competition, but he recovered to complete a fine run in the tournament dubbed the FA Cup of darts.
Wins over Paul Nicholson, Paul Hogan, Kim Huybrechts and Devon Petersen had earned the Dutchman a place in the last four, where he overcome an excellent display from Andrew Gilding before eventually prevailing 10-8.
Wright, who had earlier defeated Phil Taylor in the quarters before whitewashing Stephen Bunting in the semi-finals, had been expected to push his opponent all the way but after an impressive opening, he faltered during the second half of the contest.
