China's Chen Ruolin has emerged as the firm favourite to take the gold in the women's 10m platform after a dominant performance in the semi-final.
The 19-year-old was streets ahead of the competition, storming through to the last 12 with an impressive score of 407.25.
Canada's Meaghan Benfeito was her closest competitor, coming in second with a final score of 359.90.
Australian pair Brittany Broben and Melissa Wu have also been tipped as contenders for the podium after qualifying in third and fourth respectively.
Chen's teammate Hu Yadan turned in a below-par performance, finishing ninth with a lower-than-expected points tally of 328.25.
The women's 10m platform final takes place this evening at 7pm.
